Twenty-one year-old GALT NIEDERHOFFER (Producer) interrupted her studies at Harvard University to start Giv'en Films, a New York-based production company. In the company's first year, Niederhoffer produced Hurricane Streets, written and directed by Morgan J. Freeman, and wrote, directed and produced Myth America. DreamWorks SKG purchased the soundtrack of Myth America before distribution was sold. Current projects include Restaurant, finishing post-production, Shepherd, starting production in October, and six other scripts in development. GILL HOLLAND (Producer) graduated law school at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. He worked in a Parisian law firm before moving to New York and working briefly at October Films. From 1993 to 1995 he was Festival Coordinator at the French Film Office, representing the French film industry and Cannes Film Festival. He started cineBLAST!, the short-film-video quarterly.In 1996, Holland founded Giv'en Films with Galt Niederhoffer and co-produced Myth America. He is currently co-producing with Jean-Luc Godard the independent film Inside Out, directed by Rob Tregenza (The Arc, Talking to Strangers). He has several screenplays and documentaries in the works, including Dear Jesse about Senator Jesse Helms. He is currently working with best-selling author Patricia Cornwall to bring her books to the screen. NADIA LEONELLI (Co-Producer) is currently producing Remembering Sex, with Gill Holland. She first worked as casting assistant on A Bronx Tale and on the short film The Last Supper, directed by Daryl Hannah. She has production-managed/line-produced several independent films, including Somewhere In the City, The Irreversible Year and Burn. Leonelli also production managed Mr. Freeman's short Boom, and produced/directed a short film Naked Truth, starring Robert Sean Leonard. L.M. KIT CARSON (Mack/Executive Producer) is best known as a screenwriter (Breathless; Paris, Texas); and as an actor in the award-winning movies Running on Empty and David Holzman's Diary. He is also a producer (Bottle Rocket and the upcoming One Way); and directed a documentary on actor/director Dennis Hopper (American Dreamer). In `97/'98, Carson is writer/producer of an adaptation of Claude Chabrol's The Butcher; and also of MonteCristo for Francis Ford Coppola's American Zoetrope. CYNTHIA HARGRAVE's (Executive Producer) background includes Business Management for such high-profile industry professionals as Jon Peters and Arnold Schwarzenegger; Music Publishing (Gold Hill Music); Music Production for Neil Young's band Crazy Horse and Brian Cadd; and motion picture/television distribution at NTA/Republic Pictures. Hargrave also received a PBS/NEA Grant to develop television series.Hargrave has produced several award-winning short films, as well as features such as Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2, Bottle Rocket and Hurricane Streets. In `97/'98, she is in preparation on two features, Bullfighter, directed by Techno-Music's creator Rune Benidixen, and The 4, starring Noah Taylor (Shine) and James Coburn.Since 1990, Carson and Hargrave have partly focused on working with new movie makers. After producing Bottle Rocket and Hurricane Streets, they formed a New York-based company, MainPix to launch four new writer/director projects -- recently linking up with Quentin Tarantino's and Lawrence Bender's production company, A Band Apart. Director of photography ENRIQUE CHEDIAK previously worked with Freeman on the short film, Boom. He also shot the film Frogs and Snakes for The Shooting Gallery, and is currently shooting Remembering Sex. Production designer PETRA BARCHI has worked on numerous New York-based independent productions, including Irreversible Year.Costume designer NANCY BROUS previously worked on The Next Step.Editor SABINE HOFFMAN previously edited the films All Over Me, Breathing Room, Childhood's End, A Reason to Believe and The Love Lesson. THEODORE SHAPIRO's (Composer) feature credits include Six Ways to Sunday, directed by Adam Bernstein, the documentary Ollie's Army and the acclaimed short film Tick. For television, he has composed for Viva Variety, The State and The Daily Show. Shapiro's composition "Ophelia" was performed at Carnegie Hall. His "Of Blood and Carnations" was performed by the New York Symphony in the 1997-'98 season. |
